ANCILLARY SERVICES TESTS FOR POWER PLANTS

As TÜV Austria Academy, we have started to provide ancillary service performance testing, which is one of the cornerstones of reliability and sustainability in the energy sector. These services are offered to evaluate the compliance of electricity generation facilities with the technical criteria determined by TEİAŞ, aiming to support security of energy supply and enhance system stability.

ACCREDITATION ASSURANCE

Our organization is accredited by the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK) as a Type A inspection body in accordance with TS EN ISO/IEC 17020. Within this scope, the testing and inspection services we provide for power plants are delivered with internationally recognized quality assurance.

PRIMARY FREQUENCY CONTROL (PFC)

Primary Frequency Control plays a critical role in maintaining the supply-demand balance of the electrical grid. The ability of generation facilities to respond quickly and effectively to sudden frequency deviations is vital for overall system stability.

As TÜV Austria Academy, we conduct PFC tests mandated by TEİAŞ on-site using our calibrated equipment, analyze the frequency response of the facility, and perform conformity assessments. Based on the test results, a quality certificate is issued, documenting the plant’s contribution to grid security.

REACTIVE POWER CONTROL (RPC)

Voltage level control is one of the fundamental parameters for ensuring stable and uninterrupted electricity generation. Reactive power imbalance can pose risks both to plant performance and national grid security.

RPC tests, which are mandatory for generation facilities above 30 MW, are carried out on-site by our expert engineers. Measurement data are analyzed and inspection reports are prepared in compliance with relevant regulations. Upon completion of this process, the plant’s reactive power control capability is officially certified.
